CARTREF PARK COUNTRY GARDENS
Cartref Park Country Gardens is a place of peace and tranquility featuring unique native flora and fauna habitats. Established in 1986, the garden started as a bare paddock with a few old eucalyptus and an idea. No toxic chemicals would be used and natural predators would be encouraged.
The garden was designed to be water conscious with mulching a very important aspect in plant survival throughout these sometimes harsh summers.
You will experience several different garden sections including the Mediterranean, Cottage, Jeanie Boyd Memorial Rose Walk and the Native Bush-land Gardens. During Spring time you will see end-less wild-flowers.
There are corridors all through the gardens to encourage the return of native wildlife.
There are many different water areas creating a natural habitat for frogs. These include ponds, water features and a beautiful spring fed stream with a timber crossing.
Our gardens include the 'Jeanie Boyd" rose walk.
The Mediterranean garden contains a formal display of citrus, lavender and Germander Hedge.
There are beautiful deciduous trees, Camellias and Conifers.
We haven't forgotten the Cottage Garden around the old chook run and wishing well and of course the huge and diverse native garden, including Grevilleas, Wattles and the unusual Black and Gold Kenedia.
Located in Jullimar which is only 17 km out of town of Toodyay in Western Australia. The park offers a wide variety of birds, wildlife and natural bush-land.
